06 Aug 20: They were both very well supported in the betting, and Seaside Song and Tinolo both obliged to give Cathrine a nice double on this summer evening. Seaside Song, ridden by Carlos Lopez, captured the one-mile Lanwades Stud Stakes (LR) by beating Freed From Desire and Nouvelle Lune. Seaside Song made all for a gritty success. She came under serious attack inside the last 200 metres and fought them all off for a half-length win. This was her second big win of the season, adding nicely to her dominant run in the Nagell-Erichsen Hoppeløp (LR) first time out this term. The daughter of Harbour Watch is one of the best female runner in Scandinavia. Her total earnings are now just shy of 1.6 million kroner.
Tinolo, making his second start over hurdles under the guidance of Henrik Engblom, gained his first win over jumps by defeating Trautman and Boss Mans Ladder in a novice race over 3450 metres. Going off as the odds-on favourite, Tinolo continued his education, jumping well, and he captured the race by three parts of a length. It turned into an exciting finish, as Boss Mans Ladder was just a neck further adrift in third place. The closeness was partly caused by a moderate pace. Tinolo won with a bit up his sleeve though, and it is fair to assume that a stronger pace would have made him a more superior winner. He certainly is an exciting addition to the jumping division.
